CAMBRIDGE, MA. (November 2, 2010) – Language Scientific is pleased to announce that The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) recently licensed RxTran, prescription translation software, for its New York-based store pharmacies in response to new legislation.

RxTran allows pharmacies to quickly and accurately provide written prescription translations to their limited English proficient customers. Patients will have a better understanding of the medication’s directions, side effects, and proper use when they receive their prescription from the pharmacist. Every A&P, Pathmark and Waldbaum’s pharmacy customer will have access to medical instructions in 11 native languages including Bengali, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

“A&P’s family of pharmacies is committed to providing our customers with quality service and care. By partnering with RxTran, we can provide enhanced services to our customers,” says Tom O’Boyle, Executive Vice President, Merchandising & Marketing, A&P.

Language Scientific CEO Brian Kratt welcomes the recent partnership with A&P. “We are proud to be associated with this highly-regarded company with a proven history in meeting the needs of consumers. RxTran will serve A&P’s customers with limited English proficiency, as well as meet New York’s legislative requirements.”

RxTran provides written prescription drug information in 20 languages which can be printed instantly at the pharmacy for the patient’s convenience.
