Working with pharmacists, computer scientists, and computational linguists, RxTran has developed a unique patent-pending software that enables you to translate prescription drug Patient Instructions "Directions for Use" or SIGs can be translated – accurately, precisely, and instantaneously with RxTran. You can print out patient instructions / SIGs in any of the dozen languages when you print out the container label and the package inserts / CMI.
Pharmacists and physicians are used to entering Directions for Use for patients (SIG) as free-text into their PMS software. They are understandably reluctant to spend more time entering SIG in a structured way by using many more clicks. They don't have to. With RxTran, pharmacists can continue entering Patient Instructions / SIG into their Pharmacy Management System as free-form text. Our software can correctly parse the free-text directions for use, including custom SIGs with tapering instructions. The system identifies all the critical parts of the directions for use of medication, such as the dose, dose delivery method, route of administration, administration timing, tapering, etc.
Then these segments of patient instructions are matched to the pre-translated segments of the SIG in our comprehensive database and are translated into the customer's language. The accuracy of the translation of all the segments is validated by professional pharmacists who are native speakers of the target language (the language they are translating into).
